Membership Information:
SWABS is open to membership of all persons regardless of race, creed, color, national origin, religion, age, sex, political affiliation, marital status or handicapped condition, who meet the membership requirements described.
Individual Membership:
Any person
who is in accord with the objectives and historical significance of the
Buffalo Soldiers, may become a member of SWABS by paying the applicable annual membership fee.
There are four membership categories: Regular, Life, Associate, and Honorary.
- Regular membership:
Annual
regular membership is $25, due and payable within 30 days of the beginning
of the Fiscal Year (1 January), or within 30 days of expiration of current
membership.
- Life membership:
Any person may become a Life Member by paying the membership fee as follows:
- Age 50 & Over: $250
- Age 40 - 49: $350
- Age 30 - 39: $450
- Below age 30: $500.
Fee may be paid in full or prorated in equal payments over 2 years.
- Associate membership:
Any person may become an Associate Member by paying the applicable membership fee of $10, due and payable at time of application. Associate Members are accorded all rights and privileges of membership except for voting and holding elective office. Such membership will be in force for a period of 12 consecutive months from the date of acceptance.
- Honorary membership:
Any person who has performed distinguished service for the United States, local communities, or for SWABS may be awarded an Honorary Membership by the Board of Directors. Honorary Members pay
no dues and have no vote.
